Chili Paneer

Chili paneer is one of my all time favorite dishes! It’s a great starter for anyone looking to learn more about Indo-Chinese cuisine. It’s simple to prepare and is bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

For the marinade:

  • 3 tablespoons corn starch

  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger

  • 1/3 cup of water

  • Salt to taste

For the dish:

  • 2 tablespoons oil

  • 4-5 garlic cloves (chopped)

  • 1 green chili (sliced )

  • 2 green onion stalks (chopped)

  • 1 white onion (cubed)

  • 1/2 red bell pepper (cubed)

  • 2 tablespoons Swad Chili Garlic sauce

  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 1 tablespoons dark soy sauce

  • 1/2 block paneer (cubed)

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

  • Salt to taste

Preparation

  • Mix all of the ingredients for the marinade in a bowl

  • Add cubed paneer to your marinade, mix well until coated and let it sit for 10 minutes

  • Add 3 tablespoons of oil to a pan and sauté your marinated paneer

  • Once golden brown, remove onto a paper towel

  • In the same pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil on a medium flame

  • Add garlic, green chili, green onions, white onion, and red bell pepper

  • Sauté for 2 minutes

  • Add chili garlic sauce, ketchup, rice vinegar, and dark soy sauce

  • Sauté for another 2 minutes

  • Mix in your sautéed paneer

  • Add salt and sugar

  • Mix well and serve on a bed of rice

And your chili paneer is ready to eat!
